Abstract: Success of the mergers and acquisitions depends on various criteria. Profitability and synergy doesn t reflect the complete picture. It could be due to diversification, growth, and protection against a hostile takeover, increasing liquidity or acquisition of skills, assets and technology. Hence, need of M and A is multi dimension paradigm and depends on the need of the organization at that particular time frame based on its vision and targets. Its success depends on various factors such as the strategy that was thought upon prior to the M and A and its execution, cultural fit, employee satisfaction and increase or decrease in market shares.
