Abstract: The advent of Information Technology has been a boon to the Mankind. Information Technology has brought in speed and efficiency to the day-to-day things we do. Information Technology has touched all walks of the life and Businesses being no exception. Information Technology for Business has not only brought in speed and efficiency but has also brought in market pressures like faster reactions, shorter decision cycles, time-to-market etc. Technology has helped the businesses cater to wider audience than it did earlier. Businesses have adopted Information Technology for automating the processes across the firm. All the functions of the firm be it production planning or Invoicing or Quality Assurance, the efficiencies need to exist at each of these centers to react faster to the market and this is enabled by Information Technology. Middleware is one such technology, which helps in increasing efficiency across the firm.
