Abstract: Siemens Commynication Software (SCS) is the software development center for Information and Communication Networks (ICN) group at Siemens AG and a division of Siemens Public Communication Networks Ltd, Established in 1994 in Bangalore; it has the distinction of fast growth with reputation through quality software development, SCS is at a crossroad. After spending 8 years in the Indian IT industry, it's time to look ahead and grow, using the learning of the past. SCS has opportunities knocking its door by virtue of its position with in Siemens businesses, SCS can provide cost advantage to the parent in its services business and play a crucial role in domestic telecom business by partnering with TCM, sales division of SPCNL The Statement of Direction (SoD) for SCS is to "Maximize through Evolution and Innovation", over several key dimensions like innovation, partnerships, quality etc, This internal aspiration has potential to match up to the expectations of the parent and on a longer run proactively add more value to the global business, Growth strategies for SCS are unique, as it has to fit the global strategies and align to SoD. The best-case scenario is being a center for global Siemens Telecom solutions and a Preferred software development partner for Siemens group, But to reach this SCS has to move from being just a resource based cost center. The path would demand SCS to venture in to domestic telecom solutions to get the market feel and develop innovations for solutions to venture new markets, So the strategies would span across three horizons of Services, Solutions and Innovations, The implementation strategies will encompass operational, tactical and strategic initiatives, Quality software development with predictability and better-cost structure, aided with focused internal business development would enable SCS to move towards preferred development partner. Developing a innovation system for capturing ideas and convert them in to meaningful solutions would enable SCS to have the backbone for new solutions. Crucially the partnerships between Siemens groups and divisions will provide SCS the reach for solutions. Technology market fit can be achieved by the innovative ideas/ checked through the services capabilities introduced to the markets that is understood through domestic solutions, Strategy implementation will be monitored through a balanced scorecard^ as it's the accepted process even for the global Siemens strategy monitoring, Measurable targets are set for the critical success factors, which will be monitored over the coming years, Strategy can be successful only if the whole organization aligns with it. The critical factors here are the employees who need to be made aware of the strategies and motivate them to achieve the set targets,
