The most important problem facing the Indian Software Companies is the knowledge worker attrition. With the attrition of the employees, the knowledge accumulated by them also leaves the organization, there by leaving a system, which is shallow. Implementation of a good knowledge retention system through implementation of effective knowledge management practices would to some extent reduce impact of knowledge worker attrition. For Indian Software Companies, the Return on Investment for such a knowledge retention system would be quite high over a long run. Retention of the organizational knowledge through knowledge management systems not only increases the productivity and cycle time reduction, but also leads to improved quality products and services. In the context of Wipro, Knowledge Management would be a good differentiating factor to move up the value chain, leading to higher customer satisfaction and increased revenue per employee.en_US
