Abstract: With increased economic activity and growing dependence on imported energy sources to sustain the growth and maintain the standards of living, energy security has been followed world over as a part of government policy. The report is attempted at developing an understanding of Indian energy scenario in the year 2030. The understanding is achieved by looking into world and then some comparable and leading consuming, producing and reserve holding countries. The trends for each energy source, the probable reason for the same, the concerns and issues for each source and the impact of these findings on India is built up to arrive at the understanding. This understanding is used to suggest the steps India should take to ensure energy security.
