Abstract: The Balanced Scorecard is a strategic planning and management system that is used extensively in business and industry, government, and non-profit organizations worldwide to align business activities to the vision and strategy of the organization, improve internal and external communications, and monitor organizational performance against strategic goals. The scorecard allows us to measure financial and customer results, operations, and organization capacity. The project aims to study the strategy-based balanced scorecard system and suggest a framework for the implementation of a Balance Scorecard for the Banking and Capital Markets (BCM) Independent Business Unit (IBU) in Infosys. It also explores issues that organizations face in building and implementing scorecard systems, shares lessons learned from organizations that have taken the Balanced Scorecard journey and also explores the application of these lessons to the solve issues that might arise during the implementation of the Balanced scorecard that we arrive at towards the end of this study in the Infosys BCM vertical.
