Abstract: Merger and Acquisition is probably the most common thing in Technology industry. In this project we took a close look at the acquisitions of Big Technology Companies. Our goal has been to understand the trend in M and A activities and to identify the Strategic focus behind such M and As. In order to understand such trends we analyzed top 8 to 10 Technology vendors. We looked into Technology Industry in a holistic manner and then came up with various segments based on various analyst reports and the Organization Structures of the major Technology vendors. We then looked into each of the Segments to find out market size, growth and profitability. We looked into the various emerging technology trends that in turn determine the growth, profitability of each segment. Our work involves analyzing some of the high growth segments, analyzing the companies, intercompany interactions, competitive positioning. Last, we tried to identify some of the white spaces and that we think is the high growth is of the future.
