Abstract: The project team consisting of Piyush and Shailendra would like to start a new venture in the long run. Both team members have considerable experience in managing large IT projects and Shailendra in addition also has extensive experience in Finance and Accounting domain providing consultancy services to clients. The objective of this project is to explore the opportunities in IT and Finance sector, objectively evaluate the opportunities using appropriate frameworks available in the literature and come up with a business plan for the identified opportunities. This exercise is expected to provide learnings to the project team in terms of Enhancing their ability to be able to evaluate opportunity objectively and the various factors which need to be considered in the process. Ability to write a business plan for the identified opportunity which would be a reference document for various stakeholders like entrepreneurs, investors, employees and other stakeholders. The project report is organized in the following fashion: Section 2 - provides a summary of the study of the market environment in Financial and IT sector done by the project team and identification of opportunities by the project team which could be a potential new venture, keeping in mind the skills and expertise of promoters. Based on the preliminary evaluation, three lines of business (F and A Consulting for SMEs, IT Solutions for SMEs and ITES for SMEs) are chosen for further study. Section 3 presents an over view of the business plan summarizing the business concept, vision, mission, value and beliefs, target market, management and risks. Each of these things is dealt in detail in subsequent sections. Section 4 provides general description of business, goals and the value preposition. Section 5 performs market analysis, competitors analysis and industry description. Section 6 performs the operational analysis including operating requirements and associated costs analysis. Section 7 presents the marketing plan, which includes description of tools, used for marketing, media plan, marketing budget and sales plan. Section 8 deals with management related aspects which include the management team, organization structure, legal form of organization, board of directors and other personnel plan. Section 9 has a detailed financial plan containing P and L, Cash flow, breakeven analysis, budgets, business ratios etc. Section 10 presents critical risks, problems and assumptions and the mitigation plan. Section 11 contains the critical milestones for the business. Finally Section 12 deals with proposed company offering to its investors.
