According to IMF, India's nominal GDP for the year 2010 was US$ 1.538 trillion and the estimated GDP for the year 2011 is about US$ 1.7 trillion.i For the last two decades, India's average annual GDP is growing at a rate of 5.8% and during 2010, it was 10.4%.Error! Bookmark not defined. In terms of purchasing power parity, India is the fourth largest economy in the world. After China, it is India which has the highest labour force. It is mainly dependent on service sector, which contributes upto 54% of the total GDP, agriculture sector and Industrial sector contribute 28% and 18% respectively.Error! Bookmark not defined.,iv The major contributing industries in Industrial sector are telecom, steel, cement, petroleum, transport equipment, food processing, chemicals, machinery and software.
