Abstract: The report is about the setting up of a 25 megawatt wind farm in India by Kirloskar Brothers Ltd. in collaboration with Carter Inc USA. The introduction Presents the objectives of the project , it also gives the background as to the need for undertaking this project. The introduction also cites the limitations associated with this project study. In the Market analysis section of the report the emerging energy scenario , the current installed capacity of wind electric systems in the country is given. The potential as well as the future estimate of the installed capacity is also given. This part also has the project schedule as well as the major activities involved in the commissioning of a 25 mw windfarm in India. In the financial analysis part , the Costing of the project i.e. Cost Break - up of the entire project is calculated , and the cost comes to Rs. 94.6 crores. The profitability estimates have been prepared for over a period of 20 years. For doing the financial projections visit to IREDA was undertaken. The visit to an existing wind farm at Kayattar-II was of immense help. The performance parameters of this site are listed in appendix B.The report finally ends with Findings and the Recommendations .
